On 3rd
December 2004 Member
State Experts convened
in Brussels to kick-off
the work of the Network
of Member State Experts
on the Common Frame of
Reference. It is
envisaged that the
Network of Member State
Experts will meet
regularly at similar
workshops 2-4 times a
year.
The objective of
the workshop was to
inform Member States on
the developments of the
European contract law
project and on the
process of preparation
of the Common Frame of
Reference (CFR), to
gather from Member
States their views on
the possible content of
the CFR and an
indication of the
problems that the CFR
should solve. It is
foreseen that the CFR
will form a toolbox of
principles, definitions
and model rules of
contract law based on
best solutions drawn
from examination of
existing contract
laws.
