On 25-26 May
2006, the Austrian Council
Presidency hosted a conference
in Vienna on the theme of The
Review of the Consumer Acquis
and the Common Frame of
Reference progress, key
issues, perspectives", with
financing of the European
Commission, Directorate General
Health and Consumer Protection.
The event was the second
European Discussion Forum,
following the
first
Discussion Forum in London of
26 September 2005. The
conference brought together
some 180 participants: experts
from the CFR-net and from
Member States, senior
representatives from business
and consumer side as well as
Members of the European
Parliament.
Working sessions
concentrated on how the CFR can
usefully contribute to the
current review of the consumer
acquis as well as on current
relevant issues of the CFR work
and the review of the
acquis.
