Campaign: "It's your right to know what you are buying"
Organiser: National Authority for Consumer Protection
In December 2007, the National Authority for Consumer Protection and the Agency for Governmental Strategies conducted a public campaign to raise awareness amongst citizens of their fundamental rights as consumers. Radio spots, flyers, posters and press releases were used to get across the fundamental message that consumer rights are set down in law, and people should know and use them. The campaign also focussed on specific issues such as toy safety, product labels and warranty expiration. The result was that a higher level of information was made available to consumers, and Romanian citizens could develop a better knowledge of the elements that a consumer should be aware of when buying goods or services.
