Market studies

Through the Consumer Markets Scoreboard, the Commission monitors the functioning of the most important goods and services markets in the EU. Based on these results, the Commission identifies markets that do not function well for consumers and which require further in-depth research.

Market studies explore various areas and issues that have impact on functioning of the market for consumers, such as choice, quality, safety, health, sustainability, prices and information, as well as consumer understanding, behaviour and decision making. These findings are then used as a basis to improve or change existing policies.
