Call for proposals for Specific Joint Surveillance Actions (GPSD) - cooperation with AQSIQ

The European Commission may award financial contributions to joint actions to improve the effective application of Directive 2001/95/EC on General Product Safety (GPSD) through cooperation between national authorities responsible for the assessment, market surveillance and enforcement of the safety of non-food consumer products. This call for proposal aims at improving the cooperation between European authorities and the Chinese authority with matching responsibilities (the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine – AQSIQ).v
The joint surveillance actions should be in the area of non-food consumer product safety and involve cooperation between national authorities or other designated bodies of Member states and EFTA/EEA countries and the Chinese authorities with matching responsibilities, in particular on:
- the exchange of expertise and development and exchange of best practices related to risk assessment, product testing, and market surveillance;
- market surveillance operations;
- assessment of risks posed by non-food consumer products;
- product testing.
