Online Commerce Roundtable
On 17 September 2008, Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes met with senior consumer and industry representatives to discuss the opportunities and barriers to increased online retailing in Europe. The group met in Brussels and produced a short report for the Commission which was published on 26 May 2009.
The Commission invited all interested parties to submit their comments on the issues raised in sections III.1 and IV.A) of the Report concerning the online distribution of music.

The second meeting of the Online Commerce roundtable (16 December 2008) focused on the online distribution of music and was limited to participants of the Roundtable concerned with this issue. The third (8 September 2009) and the fourth (19 October 2009) meetings were enlarged to other key players in the online music industry i.e. Amazon, Nokia, PRS for Music (UK collecting society), STIM (Swedish collecting society), Universal Music Publishing and the representatives of European consumers (BEUC - European Bureau of Consumers Unions).
