Public event, 2 June 2009, Brussels
As part of its in-depth consultation process regarding the review of Commission Regulation 358/2003 (the BER), the Commission invited industry and stakeholders from across the Community to a Public Event in Brussels on 2nd June 2009. The purpose of this day-long conference was to hear further representations on the Report (COM/2009/0138) and accompanying Working Document which were submitted to the Council and Parliament by the Commission as part of the review process, on 24 March 2009.
The Event began with a keynote speech from Commissioner Kroes and a presentation of the Commission's preliminary findings. These were followed by panel discussions involving a range of industry representatives and stakeholders on each of the categories of agreements currently exempted under the BER. Each panel discussion was followed by a question and answer session.
