  • Commission adopts revised competition rules for distribution of goods and services
    20 April 2010
    The Commission adopted a revised Regulation on vertical agreements, exempting certain categories of agreements between manufacturers and distributors from the EU's general ban on restrictive business practices. The basic principle is that companies are free to decide how their products are distributed, provided their agreements contain no hardcore restrictions and neither party's market share exceeds 30%.

  • Commission approves acquisition of Rohm and Haas powder coating business by AkzoNobel
    21 April 2010
    The Commission's investigation confirmed that, even though the proposed transaction would strengthen AkzoNobel's market-leading position in powder coatings, a large number of alternative suppliers would remain in the market which are not constrained either in terms of capacity or access to key raw materials.
