Tax Policies for a Post-Crisis World: Commissioner Šemeta hosted the 2010 Brussels Tax Forum
With more than 500 participants, the 2010 tax Forum debated tax policies and Exit strategies.
In his closing speech, Commissioner Šemeta emphasised that Exit strategies in the field of taxation should be designed to improve the functioning of the Single Market and to promote reduction of obstacles, distortions, and compliance costs.
This conference, which brought together participants from all over the world focused on the lessons to be learned for taxation from the financial crisis, and the key role that tax policies can play in rebuilding Europe's economy and ensuring sustained growth.
