Faster, better public services for business and citizens
A new programme from the European Commission will help Member States' administrations to cooperate more easily with each other and improve the quality of the public services they offer to citizens.
The new programme, called ISA2,will build on the success of its predecessor, ISA (Interoperability Solutions for European Public Administrations), by allowing seamless electronic cross-border or cross-sector interaction between European public administrations – a vital part of modern European life when so many citizens choose to live and work in countries other than their home member state.
Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič welcomed the updated programme, which he said would help national administrations to further reduce costs without hampering the development of the single market. "Interoperable platforms now have the potential to unleash unprecedented speed, efficiency and quality in the delivery of public services. ISA2 is the key that will unlock that potential," he said.
