New Commission logo unveiled on Berlaymont
A new logo for the European Commission that will feature on all digital and printed material and on all Commission buildings across the world was unveiled in Brussels on Friday, 16 March by Vice-Presidents Maroš Šefčovič and Viviane Reding in front of the Commission's Berlaymont headquarters.
The logo, which is said to be inspired by Commission HQ, is already being rolled out online and in paper publications, but last Friday's ceremony marked the first time the logo has appeared on a Commission building.
Maroš Šefčovič , who is responsible for the Commission's buildings, congratulated his services and those of V-P Reding, responsible for communication, on the speed with which they had launched the new logo across the various media and buildings. The new logo will begin to appear on all Commission buildings in Belgium, the rest of the EU and the world at large over the coming months.
V-P Šefčovič said that the new logo would allow citizens to identify more easily the Commission's buildings and publications wherever they are in the world, and would do away with the plethora of different brands and logos used by the Commission directorates and services in the past.
