Vice President Maroš Šefčovič to unveil new strategy on equal opportunities
Speaking on 8th March at a Commission conference to mark International Women's Day, Commission Vice President Maroš Šefčovič focused on initiatives taken by the Commission to promote a better work-life balance and announced that he would shortly be unveiling a new strategy on equal opportunities. The aim is to develop a talent management policy to which all staff can contribute, and where the make-up of the Commission's workforce better reflects the European population. It will aim to ensure that all potential talents are identified and nurtured. Progress to date on equal opportunities has been positive, but there remains more to do, the Vice-President said. Mr Šefčovič also took the opportunity to hold a breakfast meeting for senior women officials in the Commission.
