Daniel, who is French, has found a house that he would like to buy in Germany. He needs to find a notary and a legal translator to determine the procedure for conducting a search in the land register.
Which action(s) did the 2010 EU Citizenship Report foresee?
To enable citizens and legal practitioners to easily find multilingual information on justice via the European e-Justice web portal.
What progress has been made?
- The European e-Justice Portal was launched on 16 July 2010.
The Portal allows Daniel to obtain information in French on the German Land Register and a link to it. He can also use the "Find a…" section to get pointers on how to find a legal translator in Germany and on how to find a notary in Germany.
