President Barroso visits China-EU School of Law (CESL) in Beijing
Today President Barroso visited the China-EU School of Law (CESL) in Beijing, a unique school he inaugurated in October 2008 together with Premier Li Keqiang.
CESL is the largest cooperation project between the Chinese government and the EU in the field of legal education, and it was founded with the participation of 16 universities. It is a unique project focused on China and EU legal education, research and training.
Being back five years later, President Barroso exchanged views with professor Huang Jin. Afterwards, he met a group of 40 students in a one hour Q&As session on EU-China cooperation and on the importance of the rule of law.
"People-to-people exchange is at the very heart of the EU-China cooperation. I truly appreciate your fresh dynamism and I wish you the best for your studies at this important school", the President said.
