Improving agricultural production in Malawi

Bono in Brussels to support aid for the poorest

They discussed the importance to secure an appropriate level of aid, based on the Commission's proposal, in the next EU budget (2014-2020).

EU contributes €10 million to UNICEF education programmes for Syrian children in Jordan

European Commission President, José Manuel Barroso, has announced a new donation of € 4.6 million to UNICEF for emergency education programmes in Jordan, benefiting Syrian refugee children as well as children of host communities. This brings its total contribution to €10 million this year from Development Funds.

EU and the IFAD sign a partnership to improve sustainable agriculture

Commissioner Andris Piebalgs and the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Kanayo F. Nwanze, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further strengthen their cooperation on agriculture.
