Commissioner Oettinger visits the United States

From 15 July until 18 July Commissioner Oettinger is visiting the United States. Among the highlights of his visit are meetings with Ambassador Carlos Pascual, special envoy and coordinator for international energy affairs at the US State Department, US Trade Representative Michael Froman and Tommy Beaudreau, the first director of the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM), which is responsible for overseeing the development of the US’s offshore resources. At the Centre for Strategic and International Studies the Commissioner delivers a speech on the transatlantic energy revolution.

A visit to a site for exploration and production of shale gas in the vicinity of Fort Worth (Texas) and a meeting with Texas state and municipal regulators on fracking conclude the trip.
