Energy policy - key issues for the European Council


The European Council held its first energy meeting in Brussels, on 4 February. Led by Permanent President, Herman Van Rompuy, as acting chairman, heads of state and government adopted a final communication to confirm that safe, sustainable and affordable energy, contributes to Europe’s competitiveness, and is a priority for the EU. The Hungarian Presidency will do its best to carry out the tasks identified in the summit.
