EU Commissioner Cecilia Malmström is in Gothenburg today to speak at the University in remembrance of victims of the Holocaust.
Today we commemorate the 66th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is of great importance to have in mind what happened during the Second World War and to remember the victims of the Holocaust. We have come a long way in Europe, but we still see people being oppressed and persecuted on our continent. We must never stop fighting for fundamental human rights and we must always stand up for tolerance and respect for other people, said Cecilia Malmström.
