Commissioner Connie Hedegaard gave a keynote speech at the Swedish Consumers' Association 20th Anniversary Conference, jointly organised by BEUC, the European Consumer Organisation. The theme of the event was 'Consumers Act for Sustainability'. Commissioner Hedegaard stressed the importance of making conscious choices and the crucial role consumers play in supporting a low-carbon economy. She placed emphasis on having a more sustainable growth model with resource efficiency and low-carbon development at its core.
