Connie Hedegaard on the IEA report: "The time for action is now"
Welcoming the World Energy Outlook Special Report "Redrawing the energy-climate map" by the International Energy Agency (IEA), Climate Action Commissioner Connie Hedegaard said: "If we want to keep on track to limit global warming to below 2 degrees, we need serious and continued efforts."
"This report confirms that measures exist that can help significantly reduce global greenhouse gas emissions quickly and at no net cost, with energy efficiency playing an important part. The time for action is now. Waiting will only increase costs in the longer term."
