Commissioner Hedegaard to visit Italy for climate policy talks
Connie Hedegaard will visit Rome on 6 October for talks with Italian ministers, members of Parliament, business leaders and representatives of civil society. The discussions are expected to cover Italy's domestic climate action and preparations for the UN climate conference in Durban, South Africa, at the end of next month.
Commissioner Hedegaard will hold separate meetings with Environment Minister Stefania Prestigiacomo and Anna Maria Bernini, Minister for European Affairs. She will also address a joint session of the Europe and Environment committees of the two houses of Parliament, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies.
Moreover, she will have a lunch meeting with environment groups and other non-governmental organisations and dinner with Emma Marcegaglia, President of Confindustria, the Italian employers' federation.
