"Territorial Cooperation brings communities closer"

21/09/2012

European Cooperation Day is being celebrated for the first time today all over Europe. To mark the occasion, EU Commmissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn attended an event in Vienna where the results of EU financed territorial cooperation projects were presented.

Speaking of the importance of territorial cooperation in the future regional policy framework 2014-2020, Commissioner Hahn said “European Territorial Cooperation will remain a significant pillar in the upcoming funding period. Projects initiated within these programmes help to build up trust. They promote mutual understanding for each other and therefore contribute to strengthening the European integration process. They bring communities closer together – this is European Union live.”
