Commission awards more than 22 million euros of regional policy funds for one major bridge project in Hungary


On Wednesday, 4 July, The European Commission approved a major project "Development of Margit Bridge and connecting transport system in Budapest". With EUR 109 553 280 total estimated costs and an EU contribution of EUR 22 338 049, this major project consists in the rehabilitation and improvement of the Margit bridge in Budapest.

A major project is a regional policy project that receives at least EUR 50 million of public investment (national and EU funding). Contrary to the other EU co financed projects which are approved at national or regional level, major projects are adopted by the Commission. More information on major projects.
