Commissioner Hahn's visit to Greece

Commissioner Hahn visited Greece on 13 and 14 December to discuss actions to improve and speed up the use of structural funds to create growth and jobs. During this visit the list of priority projects to be financed from EU funds which has been drawn up since CommissionerHahn's previous visit to Greece in September, has been expanded to more than 180 projects to be implemented by the end of the current funding period in 2013. These projects represent an overall investmen volume of 11.5 billion euro and will lead to the creation of between 90.000 and 108.000 new jobs in Greece.

During his visit, Commissioner Hahn met Mr Lucas Papademos, Greek Prime Minister, Evangelos Venizelos, Greek Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance; Ioannis Magrioti, Greek Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Transports and Networks; George Papaconstantinou, Greek Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change; Anna Diamantopoulou, Greek Minister for Education, Lifelong Learning and Religious Affairs, and George Papaconstantinou, Greek Minister for Environment, Energy and Climate Change he also visited two EU co fnanced projects and participated in the in the Annual Conference of the Presidents of the NSRF Monitoring Committees, organised by the Greek Ministry of Economy
