The new European Emergency Response Centre is welcoming another high-level guest – Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark is going to visit there tomorrow and meet Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva and experts in civil protection and crisis response.
The Princess is a known supporter of civil protection activities and a champion of disaster victims. She is Honorary First Lieutenant (Civil Protection) of DEMA, the Danish Emergency Management Agency, which is an active participant in the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
At the ERC, Princess Marie and Commissioner Georgieva will discuss the priorities and challenges to civil protection in Europe and the role of the new Centre. The Princess will see a presentation of the mapping and scientific facilities through which the ERC supports emergency management.
