A series of events promoting Bulgarian cultural, culinary and musical tradition will take place today in the Berlaymont, the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels. The initiative marks the upcoming National Day of Bulgaria and is organised under the patronage of Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva.
Together with UNESCO's Director General Irina Bokova, Commissioner Georgieva is going to open the exhibition "Cultural and natural monuments in Bulgaria". The photos show the nine Bulgarian monuments which are included in UNESCO's World Heritage List. Among them are the Rila monastery, the Boyana church, the Ivanovo rock shrines and The Madara horseman.
