Statement related to recent comments about freezing of EU-Turkey relations
"On 7 July, the UNSG met the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders in Geneva. They decided to enter into an intensive period of negotiations towards a comprehensive settlement. The EU is fully supportive of the efforts of the UNSG and the two leaders, and calls on all parties to make all efforts to help reach a comprehensive solution as soon as possible. I know that the Turkish government is equally committed to this goal. This is not the moment to speculate on any other outcome than a comprehensive settlement."
