Commissioner Damanaki participated in the plenary debate of the European Parliament focusing Tuesday evening on MEP Alain Cadec's report on the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF).

Speech at the Arctic Indigenous Peoples Dialogue


The Arctic Indigenous Peoples Dialogue is held in Brussels on Friday 18th October. On this occasion, Commissioner Damanaki delivered an opening speech on the importance of a dialogue between the EU and the representatives if Arctic indigenous people as the changes in the Arctic are a great concerns to the two parties, but first and foremost to the indigenous people.


Speech at the Commemoration of late Greek President Karamanlis


Commissioner Damanaki attended the Commemoration Ceremony in honour of late President of Greece Constantinos Karamanlis, organised today in the European Parliament. The Commemoration took place in the presence of Prime Minister of Greece, Mr Antonis Samaras.

On this occasion entitled "The necessity of Europe", Commissioner Damanaki delivered a speech.


Speech at the Conference "To get over the Crisis, the EU must go on"


Commissioner Damanaki attended the Conference "To get over the Crisis, the EU must go on" in Athens, in the presence of Mr Evangelos Venizelos, Greek Vice-President and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Conference wass organised by the Greek Centre of European Studies & Research, TEPSA, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Public Law organisation and with the support of the Representation of the European Commission in Greece.


Speech at the Baltic Sea Conference


Commissioner Damanaki delivered a keynote address during the opening of the Baltic Sea Conference, taking place this year in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Conference, gathering different stakeholders from the Baltic region, is focusing this year on Blue Growth, Sustainability and Water Industries.

During her visit to Copenhagen, Commissioner Damanaki is also meeting with Mrs Karen Haekkerup, the recently appointed new Danish Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries.
