Be smart before you tan : what you need to know about sunbeds

Consumers are not being given sufficient information on hazardous effects of UV radiation and they are not receiving sufficient guidance on how to use them safely according to the results of a market surveillance check of sunbeds and sunbed services.

Welcome to my webpage. I would like to use this space to share with you how I plan to act out my mandate over the coming years. As I had the opportunity to explain during my hearing at the European Parliament, the premise that will guide my actions over the next five years can be summarised into one simple phrase "Patients first!, Consumers first!". Obtaining a better standard of living and protecting the citizens of Europe is at the core of the portfolio of health and consumer policy, and my aim is to continue working on what has already been achieved and to continue to translate the Commission's work into concrete benefits for our citizens.
