State aid: Commission authorises temporary Finnish scheme to grant limited amounts of aid of up to €15,000 to farmers
The European Commission authorised a Finnish scheme with a budget of €22 million which aims at supporting farmers in Finland who encounter difficulties as a result of the current economic crisis.

The importance of identifying the future aims and objectives for the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) before discussing the levels of funding that might apply was the recurring message given by EU Agriculture & Rural Development Commissioner, Dacian Cioloş in a visit to Warsaw on May 10-11.
'It is clear that quality products are the best part of European agriculture to promote in the world', according to EU Commissioner for Agriculture & Rural Development Dacian Cioloş. Speaking at the end of a 2-day visit to Parma (May 7-9), he concluded that “we should be proud of this 'food valley', where the best of our quality production traditions are being combined with modern marketing. It has been a very useful visit ahead of the Commission proposals on quality policy, which will be published before the end of the year.”
