The EU Framework for national Roma integration strategies provides the opportunity for joining forces at all levels and with all stakeholders to address one of the most serious social challenges in Europe: putting an end to the exclusion of Roma people.
Cohesion policy is a unique source of EU support for the structural measures that need to be taken for correcting the (so much criticised) economic imbalances across the EU and for creating the conditions for a harmonious economic development.
Demography and family policies are the responsibility of the Members States. However, there is a strong European dimension too. Member States can get support from the European Union to achieve their objectives. This support can add real value, such as the strengthening of economic, social and territorial cohesion across the EU.
