CSR is a means for companies to make their way through the crisis. In addition, CSR action by companies may help the now-constrained public purse by encouraging everyone to share the challenges that the EU socio-economy still faces.

In order to bring about real change, we need to make sure that non-discrimination is fully embedded in designing and implementing policies on the grounds. And as part of this we also need to make better use of all instruments and resources at our disposal.
Our challenge today is clear. We need to tackle the impact of the crisis by doing more with less. And we need to lay down the basis for a lasting recovery.
