La responsabilisation des entreprises renforce la croissance économique et la rend plus durable. Voilà pourquoi la Commission européenne a présenté un train de mesures de soutien à l'entrepreunariat et à l'entreprise responsable.
Speaking at the NAPF ( National Association of Pension Funds ) conference about the future of pensions, Commissioner Andor explained how the EU can best support its Member States in achieving adequate, sustainable and safe pensions for their citizens: "as part of the Europe 2020 strategy, the Commission has called for increases in pensionable ages and reductions in early retirements. This also means ensuring that such changes lead to higher effective retirement ages, which in turn brings with it lifelong learning, health and safety at work and active ageing".
Speaking at the First Annual Convention of the European Platform against Poverty, in Krakow, Poland, Commissioner László Andor called for greater efforts to fight against poverty: "We can observe an increasing share of people seeing their living standards deteriorate, especially young people, low-skilled workers and other vulnerable groups. This is not acceptable since combating poverty is both a moral duty and an economic necessity".
The level of unemployment in the EU has become stuck at 9.5%.
Commissioner László Andor will be ready to answer your questions about the new Commission proposals for the future cohesion policy on 10 October from 10.00 to 10.30 AM (CET).
Following the European Job Days Brussels, EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and inclusion, László Andor expressed satisfaction with an impressive turnout at the leading job fair in the European Commission's Berlaymont headquarters: "The European Job Days contribute to explaining the benefits of mobility in the European Union and help people find jobs thanks to direct contact with potential employers. I am pleased to say that for many of the 10 thousand visitors and majority of over 90 participating organisations and labour market actors the event proved to be useful."
