Touteleurope the Mag: Fight against poverty in Europe

2010 is the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. To
mark the occasion, Touteleurope le Mag, in partnership with EDF, investigates
what Europe is doing and will do to achieve the ambitious objective of taking
20 million European citizens out of poverty and social exclusion by 2020.
In brief, this programme on combating poverty in Europe includes:

The facts ... poverty in Europe. Looking at statistics, Touteleurope
le Mag examines what poverty in Europe means today;

A closer look... François Soulage, president of Caritas France and
France’s Ambassador for the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social
Exclusion, Laszlo Andor, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs
and Inclusion, Maria Nowak, Director of Adie (Association for the right to
economic initiative) and Fintan Farrell, Director of the European Anti-Poverty
Network assess the problem of poverty and social exclusion today in Europe and
explain what the European Union is currently doing and intends to do to reach
the ambitious poverty reduction goal that it has set;

Over to... Bertrand Lapostolet of the Abbé Pierre Foundation who
presents the ‘2000 roofs for 2000 families’ programme that is being supported
by EDF.
