Commissioner László Andor participated in the traditional meeting between the European Commission and the incoming Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union on 2 July 2010.
Following the meeting, he said:
"I very much welcome the Belgian government's determination to focus on employment and social issues during their EU Presidency. We agree on the need to take action to create jobs and deal with the social impact of the economic crisis. I look forward to working with the Belgian Presidency to achieve results in these areas during the next six months.3
