The exact timetable is as follows:

• From Friday 25 January at 18:00 CET, access to the Union registry and its registry accounts will be completely suspended until Tuesday 29 January.
• On Tuesday 29 January at 8:00 CET, the Union registry will resume full operations.

The delay calculated when initiating a transfer (26 hours) or an addition to the trusted account list (7 working days) will take this suspension into account automatically. It means that for processes which should have been executed on Monday 28 January, the delay will be extended by 24 hours.

This update of the Union registry includes the additional functionalities enabling the central issuance and free allocation of allowances and aviation allowances in phase 3, as well as other technical improvements.

The opening of the Union registry for Croatia has also been scheduled in January. As of 17 January, Croatian operators and aircraft operators, as well as voluntary participants in the carbon market, will be able to apply for accounts in the Union registry. Access to the Union registry will not be suspended for that purpose.

National helpdesks can provide support to account holders in case of questions or difficulties during or after the activation of the new functionalities.
