The Rybnik Congress is the Europe for Citizens programme’s biggest annual event in the framework of the Polish presidency of the European Union. It is taking place with the financial support of the European Commission.
The purpose of the Congress, which will be bringing together more than 300 European stakeholders, is to discuss visions of Europe and its impact on citizens, partnerships between municipalities, as well as the future of the Europe for Citizens programme. Participants will have the opportunity to share experiences, learn about new initiatives and propose concrete ideas of actions.
In the past, the former Congresses (especially the one in Rhodes in 2007) had a major impact on the evolution of the twinning movement both at local and European levels and contributed to the success of the current Europe for Citizens programme. This year, CEMR wishes to launch a larger debate not only focused on twinning but also on European citizenship and new forms of partnerships.
