The European Year of Citizens gets off to a flying start! | Dublin (Ireland)

21/12/2012

On Thursday 10 January, the EU Year of Citizens 2013 opens in Dublin with a Citizens’ Dialogue in City Hall at 2.30 pm Irish time (3.30 pm GMT+1).

Debating the EU’s future with Irish citizens will be the Vice-President of the European Commission, Ms Viviane Reding and Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda Creighton TD.

The Citizens’ Dialogue itself will be a frank and open exchange of opinions on the current economic crisis, the rights of European citizens and the future of the European Union.

This is the chance for all citizens to speak directly to EU politicians about their rights, the kind of Europe they want to live in, and their expectations for the European Union. Their opinions will feed into future Commission proposals on strengthening rights in a Union where those rights are fully respected.

For further information and to participate in the event, please consult the website of the European Movement Ireland.

To follow the debate on Twitter use this hashtag: #cdIRL
