Commission Decision on the registration of the proposed citizens' initiative: COMMISSION DECISION

Subject-matter: Création d'un mécanisme d'évaluation objective et impartiale permettant de vérifier l'application des valeurs de l'Union européenne de la part de tous les Etats membres.
Main objectives: a) Doter l'Union européenne d'une législation générale permettant de vérifier de manière objective l'application concrète des dispositions nationales rélatives à l'Etat de droit (rule of law) afin de renforcer la confiance mutuelle entre les Etats membres et de faciliter la mise en oeuvre des dispositions de l'art. 7 TUE concernant d'éventuelles violations des valeurs de l'Union. b) Faciliter l'application des lois européennes en matière de coopération judiciaire pénale (par exemple le mandat d'arrèt européen).
