Subject-matter: Právní ochrana důstojnosti, práva na život a integrity každé lidské bytosti od početí v oblastech kompetence Evropské unie, ve kterých je tato ochrana zvlášť důležitá

Main objectives: Lidské embryo si zaslouží úctu ke své integritě. To je vyjádřeno v rozhodnutí Evropského soudního dvora v případu Bürstle, který definuje lidské embryo jako začátek lidské bytosti. K tomu, aby se dosáhlo konsistence v oblasti jejích kompetencí tam, kde je život lidského embrya ohrožen, měla by Evropská komise rozhodnout o zákazu a zastavení financování aktivit, které předpokládají zničení lidských embryí především v oblastech výzkumu, rozvojové spolupráce a veřejného zdraví.
