IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is not possible to launch a European citizens' initiative before 1st April 2012, when the Regulation setting out the procedures and conditions for the citizens' initiative will begin to apply.

The European citizens' initiative allows one million EU citizens to participate directly in the development of EU policies, by calling on the European Commission to make a legislative proposal.
