Thematic workshop: European funding to support the theme "Health Workforce"

18-19 January, Rome, Italy

The thematic workshop, organised and chaired by Chafea, will cover European funding dedicated to health workforces and will focus on results and lessons learnt from EU projects on chronic diseases as well as soft and digital skills for EU health professionals.

It will present how helping people with chronic diseases to live active and productive lives is of significant social and economic value, and how improving the digital & soft skills of health professionals can bridge the existing gap between current digital technology trends and their unexploited potential in the health sector.

The workshop is an opportunity for participants to share good practices on prevention and care of chronic diseases, along with strategies that support healthy and active ageing, and also training for health professionals for introducing digital systems in their daily work.

In addition to the results obtained from the EU Health Programmes, selected European projects funded under multiple EU Programmes (e.g. Erasmus+) will be showcased and discussed in order to verify their scalability.

Approximately 50 participants are expected to attend the workshop, representing experts from Italy and other EU countries as well as EFTA/EEA countries.

This workshop is part of the conference on "Health & Ageing sector investment, European funds and human resources: the post-2010 perspective", organised by the Italian Ministry of Health. A welcome session by the Italian Minister of Health is foreseen at the beginning of the event.
