Final conference of the Joint Action on Nutrition and Physical Activity (JANPA)

JANPAJANPA aims to contribute in controlling the increase of overweight and obesity in children and adolescents in EU countries by 2020, focusing on nutrition and physical activity policies.

The final conference, open to the public after registration, will present the JANPA key findings and recommendations. Vytenis Andriukaitis, Commissioner for Health and Food Safety and Agnès Buzyn, French Minister for Health are expected to attend. Speakers and panellists from international and EU institutions as well as several stakeholders will discuss the practical and political implications of the JANPA key results and the follow-up at national and European levels with JANPA partners and the audience.

JANPA is a joint action within the global framework of the EU Action Plan on Childhood Obesity 2014-2020. Thirty-nine partners from 26 European countries have been collaborating for 2 years on economic aspects of the issue, selection of best practices for early and school interventions, the use of nutritional information and monitoring of the nutritional composition of foods.  JANPA is coordinated by the French Ministry for Solidarity and Health – Direction Générale de la Santé (DGS) and the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES).
