The Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic
seeks a full time
European Public Space and Communication Project Manager
Contract agent Function Group IV
(maximum duration 2 years)
Expected starting date:
January 2009
Basic Function:
The successful candidate will be responsible for management of the European Public Space, communication project management and the provision of information to the general public.
Duties/responsibilities:
* Management of the European Public Space and organisation of activities related to the EPS in cooperation with the European Parliament Information Office
* Provision of information to the general public relating to the communication activities of the Representation
* Provision of presentations to the general public relating to the Commission's communication priorities and other communication activities of the Representation
* Ensuring the follow-up of project implementation, the performance of project partners, monitoring contractual obligations, gathering and handling external expertise
* Assisting in the launching and managing of calls for proposals, evaluation and selection of projects
* Negotiating technical and financial aspects of agreements linked to the preparation and implementation of projects
* Dealing with horizontal activities, concertation and networking aspects of communication programmes and projects
* Reporting of major national and regional events dealing with communication projects
* Preparation of materials, briefings and speeches for the Head of Representation, as requested
* Analysis and assessment of the results and impact of communication programmes and projects, providing feedback, making suggestions for modifications
* Participation in the coordination of activities with external organisations in order to ensure the success of projects on information and strategic approaches adopted
* Assistance in the preparation of calls for proposals and participation in the selection process
* Evaluation of outcomes and monitoring of expenditure
* Provision of editorial support to the Representation's publications
Candidate for this post should:
* have a level of university education of at least three years attested by a diploma and appropriate professional experience of at least one year
* be a native Czech speaker, fluent in English – knowledge of French would be an advantage
* be a citizen of an EU member state
* have experience in communications or journalism or public relations
* have outstanding communication, presenting and drafting skills
* be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
* be computer literate
Grade and duration:
The successful candidate will be employed full time, as contractual agent (Function Group IV) for a maximum of 2 years.
