Following the final approval of the 2013 budget, the Directorate General for Budget has released two related publications: a pocket notebook version, which provides an overview of the budget, and a booklet with tables and charts presenting the key figures.
The pocket publication provides basic information about 2013 EU budget to the general public. It introduces the EU budget, its role and attempts to demonstrate the EU added value. The presentation follows the fields of expenditure (the so-called headings of the 2007–2013 Multiannual Financial Framework) and offers concrete examples on what the money is spent on.
The booklet is intended for expert public. It presents the key figures of the 2013 EU budget in tables and charts which clearly show in detail how much and what proportion will be devoted to the different objectives and programmes. It also explains how the budget will be financed, listing its sources of revenue.
