Simplification of the Financial Framework 2014-'20: Some examples
Following the publication of the Multiannual Financial Framework 2014-2020 proposal, the Commission decided to make steps towards revision and simplification of the rules governing EU funding for Small and Medium Enterprises, towns and regions, students, scientists and others.
Over 120 proposed changes should reduce of the number of programmes, increase coherence and clarity, point out priority objectives and indicators, and ensure a decisive move towards a faster delivery of payments. Before entering into force, the Commission's proposal will need to be agreed by the European Parliament and Council. It is now up to them to decide whether the beneficiaries of EU funds will finally be spared some of the administrative burden.
In the coming days and weeks we will publish on this page some examples of what difference the proposal could make, so be sure to tune in again.
