Science, research and innovation are crucial for Europe's economic growth and jobs by delivering new products and services.
Did you know that the European Union has funded more than 18 000 research projects with teams across the EU in the last 7 years?
The Joint Research Centre, the European Commission’s own in-house science service, provides scientific support to EU policies and works to directly improve the lives of European citizens in many ways, from promoting a healthy environment, energy efficiency and renewable energies, to ensuring consumer safety and crisis response.
Discover the results of a sample of EU-funded research projects at our stand in the Berlaymont, meet the scientists who will share their passion with you and try the hands-on science activities for all ages.
Come play the "Sustainable fishing game", where four fisher(wo)men have to communicate and stick to the rules to achieve a high yet sustainable catch and have a look at our illuminated globe of planet earth which will showcase our scientists' work on mitigating the effects of natural disasters (e.g. tsunamis, earthquakes, floods and fires) and how the Joint Research Centre monitors global issues (greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, desertification, etc.).
This visual exhibition is dynamic, impressive and is simply a must for all visitors.
