EU Enlargement : Croatia - 2006

On 08/11/2006, the European Commission will adopt its Progress Reports on the candidate and potential candidate countries of South-East Europe. Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey are candidate countries for EU accession. The Commission makes regular reports on their progress towards meeting the requirements for EU membership. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro are potential candidate countries. The Commission also prepares regular reports on their progress in adopting EU standards and fulfilling the conditions under the Stabilisation and association process. There will also be a report on progress made in Kosovo under UN Security Council Resolution 124. To establish a clear framework for the enlargement policy, the Commission will also adopt a strategy document on the way ahead, including a special report on the Union’s integration capacity, as requested by the European Council in June 2006
