On 29 January 2018, Rumen Porodzanov, Bulgarian Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, chaired the 3593rd meeting of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council, in Brussels. They focused in particular on the CAP added value, objectives and subsidiarity in both pillars. A possible coordinated EU approach for the Union’s participation in FAO and the forthcoming process for election of the FAO director-general was the theme of an informal lunch. After lunch the Council was briefed on the current situation in the main agricultural markets. In the context of this debate, some any other business points on sugar, skimmed milk powder and pork meat were also discussed.
