New Chapter for Greece
A new chapter is opening for Greece. This is the result of both national reforms and support from EU partners. The sacrifices and efforts of the Greek people in undertaking these reforms have delivered real, tangible results: - GDP growth rebounded from -9.1 % in 2011 to 1.4% in 2017 and is projected to grow by around 2% in 2018 and 2019. - While unemployment remains high, it has decreased from 27.9% in July 2013 to 20.1% in March 2018. Over 100,000 jobs have been created since 2015.- The recovery of public finances has been impressive, with the deficit decreasing from a peak of 15.1% in 2009 to a surplus of 0.8% in 2017.The economy is now on the right track. However reform efforts should be kept up after the programme ends. To sustain the recovery and ensure the country is prepared to face the future.

Health and safety in small companies
Accidents at work, stress and occupational sicknesses affect workers’ health. They also come at a cost for businesses, especially for small and micro companies. This stockshot shows examples of companies that have developed cost-effective and efficient health and safety management. Each euro invested in preventing work-related illness produces a return in profits. The European Commission is taking further action to promote occupational safety and health in the EU. The Commission aims to put a bigger focus on results and less on paperwork; to facilitate compliance with the existing legislative framework, in particular by SME's and micro-enterprises; and to better protect workers against work-related cancer.
